Hexagons

Blue and gold hexagons. The painting represents my mind in different moods. The light side is happy and calm kept in mythological order while the dark side becomes more hectic and chaotic the darker it gets representing anxiety and depression.

This painting took me 3 days to complete! The longest I’ve spent on a painting. I first stuck tape over the places where I wanted to paint gold. I then painted in the blue hues and textured them. Next I switched it around and stuck the tape over the blue so that I could paint in a primer of white and then gold without it going over the blues. Peeling off the tape was one of the most satisfying things ever. This took me 3 days because before I peeled off the tape I left it overnight to dry in order to make sure the paint wouldn't run. Below are images of me working on the painting.
