Fiona Bruce

Fiona Elizabeth Bruce stands as a prominent figure whose career has taken her from breaking news barriers to unmasking art mysteries and navigating political debates. Fiona has carved a path as a journalist, newsreader, and television presenter.

Breaking Barriers at the BBC

Fiona's journey with the BBC began in 1989 as a researcher for Panorama. A decade later, she shattered the glass ceiling, becoming the first female newsreader on the BBC News at Ten. Her presence has since graced flagship programs, including BBC News at Six, Crimewatch, Antiques Roadshow, and the art-investigation hit, Fake or Fortune?

In January 2019, Fiona took the reins of BBC One's Question Time, marking a historic moment as the first full-time female host, proving that she's not just reporting the news; she's making it.

Mastering the Art of Investigation

Fiona's investigative skills extended beyond journalism. Her role as co-presenter on Crimewatch showcased her commitment to justice. Simultaneously, her passion for the art world unfolded on Fake or Fortune?, where she unraveled the authenticity of artworks alongside Philip Mould.

Fiona's television ventures extend beyond news and art. From hosting Antiques Roadshow to documenting historic stories such as Victoria: A Royal Love Story, she's proven her versatility.

Charisma Beyond the Screen

Fiona's presence extends beyond the news desk. Her appearances on Top Gear and Children In Need where she and fellow newsreaders raised money by performing comedy and dance routines on multiple occasions. Despite being a seasoned journalist, Fiona's ability to engage in light-hearted banter demonstrates her down-to-earth nature.

Fiona's commitment to feminism has been a consistent theme throughout her career. She's been outspoken about the relevance of feminism in society and has actively supported charitable causes, including her role as an honorary vice president of Vision Aid Overseas.
